Mongu, Zambia

In April 2021 we developed Zambia’s first concrete skatepark – Lukabe Hande Skatepark in Mongu, Zambia.

Skatepark in Mongu

Lukaba Hande means we’ll be all right. This has been the motto of our local partner We Skate Mongu no matter the struggles they have been going through. As the founder, Johnny Kalenga puts it: “Whatever challenges we might face, we’ll be all right. It’s We because We go through everything together”

Why Mongu ?

We chose Mongu, Zambia, because it represents both a challenge and a deep potential. Located in the Western Province of Zambia, Mongu is a vibrant town with a growing youth population but limited access to sports and creative outlets. Many young people in Mongu face economic and social barriers that prevent them from exploring their full potential.

How much people ?

At this stage, we don’t have the exact number of volunteers involved in the Mongu project. However, our team is expanding, and we are working closely with local partners and international supporters to build a strong, dedicated group of people committed to making this project a success.
